QVOLUTION
A LGBTQIA+ and ally youth Program
Working with the LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada we created this logo for QVolution, their youth program. It is a virtual support group designed to meet the social, support, recreation, and development needs of LGBTQIA+ and ally youth ages 13 to 24.

The best direction for creating a logo that effectively communicates the groups purpose was to go simple and colorful. At first glace the colorful circles in the logo quickly conveys its associated to the LGBTQIA+ community. The circles that make up the design, some open while others are fulfilled, unite to form a "Q" shaped structure. The letter "Q" can stand for both "questioning", the process of exploring one's sexual orientation and gender identity, or for "queer", an umbrella term used by individuals who do not identify with traditional gender and sexual orientation binaries. The multiple colors also convey the message of a spectrum of identities, and also visually represent the energetic and youth demographic of the group.
The font used under the logo for the groups name "QVolution" is Reva Medium font, a geometric sans-serif font with clean lines. This font features a modern and minimalist aesthetic that is professional as well as appealing to the eyes. In the title "QVolution" the capitalized letter "Q" was shrunk down to tie in with the double "O's" within the name to create visual repetition, while the "V" was capitalized to be visually reminiscent of The LGBTQ Community Centers logo.
The finished logo design works well on a bright/pastel background or pattern with the black font. Or on a dark/deep background or pattern when the white font is used.
